Lakeside Romps By Eagles, 44-6

The visiting Lakeside Knights dismantled the Falls Christian Eagles, 44-6, with three touchdowns from Ken Pluff and two scores by Buck Allen in a North Star League football game Friday afternoon.

Pluff scored on a 60-yard pass, 40-yard fumble return and a 45-yard run. Allen scored on runs of 5 and 19 yards.

Lakeside improved its record to 3-1 in league.

The bright spot for Falls Christian was running back Tyson Allen, who ran for 85 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown.

The Eagles slipped to 1-2 in league, 2-2 overall.

Mullan 56, Kootenai 6

The Tigers ended the game with 6:03 left in the fourth quarter via the mercy rule, after going over the 45-point lead limit in the eight-man game.

Mullan rolled at home as quarterback Dan Fritz threw for 207 yards on 6-of-6 passing with four touchdowns. Teammate David Reed scored three touchdowns and gained 98 yards on the ground.

The victory moved Mullan to 3-0 in league. Kootenai dropped to 0-3 in league, 0-4 overall.

St. Maries 39, Priest River 6

In a game featuring undefeated teams, the Lumberjacks easily prevailed over the host Spartans in an Intermountain League opener for both.

St. Maries moved to 4-0 overall, while the Spartans fell to 3-1.

Bonners Ferry 33, Wallace 17

The visiting Badgers posted their first win in three tries as they had no trouble with the Miners in a non-league game.

Wallace dropped to 2-1-1 overall.

Lakeland 17, Kellogg 7

Winless in two previous non-league games, the Hawks broke through with a victory over the Wildcats in an Intermountain League opener at Corbit Field in Rathdrum.

Kellogg dropped to 1-2-1 overall.

Moscow 27, Clarkston 10

The Bears won for a second straight week, dumping the the Bantams in the first game of the Shriners doubleheader at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow.

Lewiston and Pullman were playing in the late game Friday.

Moscow improved its record to 2-1, while Clarkston fell to 0-2.
