NEW FACES:

L. Diane Emmons, formerly of Underwood, Campbell, Brock & Cerutti, P.S., has joined the law firm of Huppin Ewing Anderson & Paul, P.S.

Gary Bien has been appointed executive director and chief executive officer of Heart Clinics Northwest. Bien was vice president for Clinical Services at Baptist Medical System in Little Rock, Ark.

Shirley Smith, a 21-year veteran of the mortgage lending industry, has been appointed manager of the Spokane branch of Countrywide Funding. Smith is responsible for originating and underwriting home loans, as well as overseeing administration of the Spokane office.

Gretchen Naccarato has joined the sales team at Coeur d’Alene Resort as a new regional sales manager. Naccarato will be responsible for generating sales for meetings and groups from governmental clients in Idaho, Eastern Washington and Western Montana.

Kevin Krebs has been named executive director of the Masonry Industry Promotion Group of Spokane. Krebs was previously sales manager at Layrite Products.

Mike Baumgarden, a licensed real estate associate broker, has joined Country Home Realty as a branch manager.

Dr. John Pennock has joined Holy Family Hospital’s medical staff and Drs. Cain, Randolph, and McClellan of Northpointe Family Medicine. Pennock attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma and completed his residency at Robert Thompson Strategic Hospital, Carswell AFB, Texas.

Dr. Mark Paxton has opened an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice at 1120 N. Pines in the Spokane Valley. Dr. Paxton received a dental degree from the University of Washington and oral and maxillofacial surgical training with the Air Force at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, Calif.

Dr. Diane Stevens Paxton has joined the orthodontic practice of Dr. Rick Ellingsen at 12109 E. Broadway in the Spokane Valley. Dr. Paxton received a dental degree from the University of Washington and orthodontic training at the University of California, San Francisco. She spent 14 years in the Air Force.

Deborah Williams, a licensed physicians assistant, has joined Dr. A. Christopher Olson. Williams will practice at the new Deer Park Clinic.

Julie Moyer Scheele has been hired as the new executive director of the Spokane Ronald McDonald House. Scheele previously worked for Lutheran Social Services of Washington and Idaho and also for the Spokane Sexual Assault Center in public relations/ marketing.

Hospice of Spokane has made the following changes to its staff:

Terry Williams is the new director of admissions and on-call. Williams was formerly with St. Luke’s Extended Care Center as director of nursing services.

Yolanda Ifflander, Jennifer Dikes, Bonita Macaro, Patricia Royse, and Deborah Spiger have also joined the nursing services department.

James Edwards is the new director of volunteer services. Edwards was previously a staff social worker.

Eileen Lyons was a former staff social worker and is now the community bereavement coordinator.

Laxmi Seth, Sally Chapman, Tanya Charlton, Sue Gennario, and Margaret Hoffman have joined the social services staff.

Cameron Anderson, Tracy Marx, Mila Muir, and Susan Neese have joined the paraprofessional department as nurse aides.

Paula Slaight is the new receptionist, London Harris is the insurance clerk, and Beth Duppstadt is the computer training specialist.

Angel Katen, a former teacher at the University of Idaho communication department, is the new manager of the Y’s Buys thrift store.

MOVING UP:

Lori Weaver has been promoted to retail banking officer at Washington Trust Bank. Weaver will continue her responsibilities as branch manager at the bank’s East Sprague branch.

STARTING UP:

June and Ed Brown have started White Hawk Equestrian Center Inc. at 10826 South George Road. White Hawk offers accommodations for horses and features dressage/English riding.

Osh Kosh B’gosh and Dress Barn have opened stores in the Post Falls Factory Stores. Osh Kosh B’gosh offers a full line of children’s casual clothing. Dress Barn carries women’s career and casual wear in sizes ranging from juniors 5/6 to misses 4-14.
