New Doctors’ Health Plan Is Certified By State

A new health-care service contractor put together mostly by doctors has been certified as an insurance carrier in Washington.

United Physicians of Washington, which will have its headquarters in Federal Way, was formed by medical doctors frustrated with the level of care offered by many other insurers.

State Insurance Commissioner Deborah Senn said the plan will operate in Chelan, Douglas, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, Snohomish, Spokane and Thurston counties.
