Ruth Cyr Kellogg

Memorial service for Ruth Marie Cyr, 83, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Shoshone Funeral Service of Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cyr, who was born in Idaho, died Wednesday at the Mountain Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center of Kellogg.

She moved to North Idaho in 1990 from Riggins, Idaho, where she had owned and operated the Hi-Way Hotel before retiring.

She married Clifford Cyr in 1954.

Mrs. Cyr was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Steven Visintainer San Jose, Calif.

Service for Steven Joseph Visintainer, 40, will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wallace. Internment will follow at the Osburn Cemetery in Osburn, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service of Wallace is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Visintainer, who was born in Wallace, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose after a brief illness.

He graduated from Wallace High School in 1974, later graduating from college and moving to San Jose.

Mr. Visintainer was recently employed as a sales representative for QCI/Mitsubishi.

He is survived by three sons, Chadd, Brett and Gregg Visintainer, all of San Ramon, Calif.; his parents, Leonard and Marie Visintainer of Silverton, Idaho; three sisters, Linda Parrella of Kennewick, Judy Visintainer of Wallace and Terri Whitaker of San Jose; several aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins.

Elizabeth Koefod-Walsh Spokane

Funeral Mass for Elizabeth Koefod-Walsh, 72, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Inurnment will be private. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Koefod-Walsh, who died Tuesday, was born in Walla Walla and was raised in Spokane.

She had worked as a medical receptionist and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

She is survived by three sons, Jon Koefod of Kake, Alaska, Ray Koefod of Clarkston, Wash., and Kirk Koefod of Moscow, Idaho; two daughters, Dian Koefod of Coeur d’Alene and Mary Meek of Priest Lake, Idaho; three brothers, Patrick Walsh of Honolulu, Robert Walsh of Portland and Daniel Walsh of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Patricia O’Brien of Portland and Mary Coffey of Carson City, Nev.; and 10 grandchildren.

Rev. Hubert Adams Spokane

Funeral Mass for the Rev. Hubert W. Adams, S.J., 93, will be at 11 a.m. today at Jesuit House. His nephew, the Rev. Dan Weber, S.J., will be the celebrant. Burial will be at Mount St. Michael Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Adams, who died Thursday, was born in Harrington, Wash.

He entered the Society of Jesus in 1930 in Los Gatos, Calif., and completed his novitiate in Sheridan, Ore., in 1932.

He was ordained in San Francisco and served as administrator at Sheridan Novitiate from 1944 to 1962 and at Mount St. Michael’s from 1962 until 1978, when he retired.

He is survived by six nephews, the Rev. Dan Weber, S.J., of Tacoma, James Weber of Bellingham, Bob Niehenke, Dick Weber and Martin Weber, all of Spokane, and Tony Adams of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five nieces, Rita Reisnauer of Idaho, Donna Leeming, Marlene Rainey and Donna Axtell, all of Spokane, and Mary Ann Niehenke of Colton, Wash.

Geraldine Carey Hayden Lake

Geraldine “Jerri” Carey, 75, died Thursday at home in Hayden Lake.

Memorial service has been held. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carey, who was born in Whittier, Calif., lived and traveled in Europe with her husband, Claude, from 1955 until 1959. She later attended and graduated from Santa Ana Community College with an associate degree in library science. She retired in 1970 and traveled the world with her husband.

She worked for the Wycliffe Bible Translators Association in Guatemala for several years.

She was a member of the New Life Community Church in Hayden Lake and a 23-year past member of Hayden Lake Friends Church, helping on the building committee.

Mrs. Carey was an honorary lifetime member of the Guatemalan branch of the Wycliffe Bible Translators Association. She also spent two years with her husband as an administrator of the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem in the early 1980s.

She was a volunteer librarian at North Idaho Christian School in Hayden Lake.

Survivors include her husband at the home; two sons, Michael of Guam and Donald of Hayden Lake; one daughter, Marilyn Dunn of Hayden Lake; one sister, Betty Ray of Atascadero, Calif.; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna Koutny Spokane

Service for Anna Raddas Koutny, 96, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Koutny, who died Wednesday, was born in Great Falls, Mont.

She had lived in Spokane for more than 65 years and was a homemaker.

She was a charter member of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Marie Raddas Nay of Nine Mile Falls; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.

Michael Cooper Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Mass of Christian Burial for Michael F. Cooper, 21, was Friday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry. Interment followed in the St. Michael’s Mission Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cooper, who was born in Ft. Lewis, Wash., died Monday from injuries suffered in a pedestrian-train accident.

He was raised and educated in Bonners Ferry and worked as a logger with his father. He was a member of the Kootenai Indian Tribe.

He was recently employed as a fish culturist at the Kootenai Tribal Hatchery near Bonners Ferry.

He loved to hunt and fish and was proud to learn about his heritage.

Survivors include his mother, Dixie Cooper of Bonners Ferry; his father, Fred Cooper of Naples, Idaho; two sisters, Kim and Renae Cooper, both of Bonners Ferry; his grandparents, Abe and Louise Abraham, and Laurie and Bill Gangwer; several aunts, uncles and nieces, and numerous cousins.

Connie Conroy Seattle

Memorial service for Connie Lynn Conroy, 31, will be today at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Conroy, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Thursday in Sandpoint of breast cancer.

She graduated in 1982 from Coeur d’Alene High School, where she was active in track, Job’s Daughters and the Girl Scouts.

She married Michael Conroy in Seattle in 1991 and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1992. She later lived in Seattle with her husband.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and reading.

Survivors include her husband, at home in Seattle; her father, Joseph Haynes of Boise; her mother, Esther Pennington Haynes of Sandpoint; two sisters, Christy Hammond of Seattle and Jenny Haynes of Berkeley, Calif.; her grandmothers, Jane Haynes and Dora Pennington, both of Sandpoint; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
