Spokane Airport Traffic Growth Slows

Spokane International Airport’s explosive growth of the past three years finally slowed to single digits in August.

The total number of passengers arriving and departing at the airport was up 7.6 percent over August 1994. But the year-to-date totals were up 11.7 percent over the first eight months of 1994.

Total cargo at the airport was up 8.25 percent for the month, and 9.32 percent for the year.

At Felts Field, total operations were up 5.7 percent in August over the same month a year ago, but were off 2 percent for the first eight months of 1995 compared with the same period of 1994.

Total freight handled at Felts Field was off 16 percent for the month, but up 19 percent for the year.
