Woman Says She Was Molested By Stranger

From Staff Reports

An 18-year-old woman told Coeur d’Alene police she was molested Wednesday after she accepted a ride with a man she didn’t know.

The man tried to prevent her from escaping his vehicle, according to a Coeur d’Alene Police report.

The Post Falls teenager was walking along Government Way to the Dexco gas station north of Canfield Avenue at about noon, according to the report.

She noticed a man in a white Jeep Cherokee drive by her. She then went into the gas station. When she came out the man was waiting for her, according to the report.

The man offered to give her a ride and she accepted.

After the woman got in the Jeep, the man began grabbing her. She slapped his hands away and told him to let her out of the Jeep. He refused and kept driving, according to the report.

As the man came to a stop at the intersection of Government Way and Dalton Avenue, the woman jumped out of the vehicle.

The man then sped away.

He is described as white, in his early 30s, of average height and weight. He had collar-length reddish-blond hair and a goatee. His hands were rough and he had light green or blue eyes.

On Thursday, Coeur d’Alene police had not made an arrest in connection with the attack. However, police ask that anyone with information regarding the incident to call (208) 769-2320.
