Russians Unveil New Mig Training Jet

Compiled From Wire Services

Blessed by a Russian Orthodox priest, a new MiG training jet designed by French and Russian engineers was unveiled Friday at a military air base outside Moscow.

The MiG-AT, jointly developed by Russian and French firms such as Messier-Bugatti and Thomson CSF, was completed in May 1995 but only underwent flight tests last month at the Zhukovsky airfield.

The MiG-AT flies at a top speed of more than 600 mph.
