Philip Ringener, beaten 237-236 by Jess Stayrook in last year’s Bud Light Bowling Championship final in Sayville, N.Y., when a 4-pin refused to fall, was the beneficiary this time when a 4-pin stayed up, giving him a 226-224 victory over Joe Firpo and the $40,000 winner’s check.

Quarterback Will Furrer, formerly of Pullman High School, passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns to pilot the host Amsterdam Admirals to a 17-7 victory over the Dusseldorf Rhine Fire in the World League of American Football.
