Idaho Bishop To Bless Parochial Classrooms

From Staff And Wire Reports

Idaho’s bishop will be on hand for Thursday’s dedication of the new Holy Family Catholic School.

The Most Rev. Tod Brown, bishop of the Diocese of Boise, will bless the classrooms. They are located in the St. Thomas Parish Center, 406 N. 10th St.

The ceremony will mark the return of Catholic school education to the Coeur d’Alene area, said Mary Stewart, secretary of the school board.

Supporters raised more than $250,000 over the last two years to open the school, which will initially feature kindergarten through thirdgrade classes.

“It’s our goal to add a grade each year,” Stewart said.

The school opens Sept. 3. Fifty-nine students have enrolled, and enrollments are still being accepted. More information is available by calling 765-4327.
