Woman Arrested In Attempted Murder Of Son

From Staff And Wire Reports

An elderly woman faces an attempted murder charge after she allegedly tried to shoot her son in the head.

Carmen Elizabeth Cline, 79, was arrested Saturday morning.

Police said Cline and her 52-year-old son, Neal, and his wife, Bonnie, were arguing. Carmen Cline reportedly went to her room, got a .32-caliber semiautomatic pistol, pointed it at Neal Cline’s head and pulled the trigger, but the gun didn’t fire.

Neal Cline then wrestled the gun away from his mother.

Police say the gun had a fully loaded ammunition clip but there was no round in the chamber when Carmen Cline allegedly tried to fire the weapon.
