Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: For easier access to small items on a shelf in the refrigerator, use a small plastic tray. Place all small jars on it.

When you are looking for that right item, pull the tray forward and there it is. Saves space and time. - Ruth Emerson, Vero Beach, Fla.

Dear Heloise: We changed the paint and draperies in one of our bedrooms, which made the queen-size spread obsolete.

I put the two wrong sides of the quilted cotton spread in a vertical fold, right sides on top and bottom.

After stitching around all four sides (top stitching), I have an ideal coverlet for a daybed or single bed.

It makes a good substitute for a lightweight blanket. - Nancy Gull, Garnavillo, Iowa
