China Airlines Buys Six Boeing 737 Jets

From Staff And Wire Reports

Taiwan’s China Airlines finalized a contract with Boeing Co. to buy six of its passenger planes for $300 million, the airline said Wednesday.

The 160-seat 737-800s are scheduled for delivery between August and November 1998, it said.

To meet growing market demands, China Airlines, Taiwan’s largest airline, plans to boost its fleet from 40 to 67 aircraft by the year 2003.
