Massachusetts Rebounds From Only Defeat

Marcus Camby had 21 points, 15 rebounds and his 300th career blocked shot Wednesday night as No. 2 Massachusetts (27-1, 15-1 Atlantic 10) rebounded from its only loss with a 68-66 overtime victory over St. Joseph’s (13-11, 8-7) at Amherst, Mass.

(4) Connecticut 78, Rutgers 66 At Storrs, Conn., Ray Allen scored a career-high 39 points, including a career-best nine 3-pointers, rallying the Huskies (26-2, 16-1 Big East) from an early 15-point deficit to a win over the Scarlet Knights (9-16, 6-11).

(12) Penn St. 78, Northwestern 62 At State College, Pa., Pete Lisicky scored 29 points as the Nittany Lions (20-4, 11-4 Big Ten), which needed overtime to win the teams’ first meeting, defeated the Wildcats (7-18, 2-14).

(18) Georgia Tech 83, Florida St. 68 At Tallahassee, Fla., Matt Harpring scored 22 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (19-10, 12-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) to a win over the Seminoles (13-12, 5-10).

The win, the Yellow Jackets’ sixth straight, also made Bobby Cremins the winningest coach in Tech history with a 293-170 record.

(20) Iowa 69, Wisconsin 54 Iowa City, Iowa, Jess Settles scored 25 points, including 10 straight in a secondhalf rally, as the Hawkeyes (20-7, 9-6 Big Ten) outlasted the Badgers (15-12, 7-8).

Marq. 80, (21) L’ville 79, (2OT) At Louisville, Ky., Aaron Hutchins hit a 3-pointer from the right corner with 3 seconds left in the second overtime, lifting Marquette (19-6, 9-4 Conference USA) past the Cardinals (19-9, 10-4).

K-State 92, (23) Iowa St. 87 (OT) At Ames, Iowa, Elliot Hatcher and Aaron Swartzendruber each scored 22 points and freshman Ayome May hit a 3-pointer for the go-ahead basket in overtime as the Wildcats (16-9, 7-6 Big East) beat the Cyclones (19-8, 8-5).
