Power Outage Stops Snoqualmie Ski Lifts

From Staff And Wire Reports

A power outage that lasted most of the day kept skiers from enjoying resorts near Snoqualmie Pass, officials said.

Puget Power officials said Sunday’s outage was caused by ice that gathered on tree branches. The broken limbs fell on power lines cutting electricity at about 4 a.m.

The ski lifts were inoperable and about 400 customers at the ski resorts were affected. Power was restored by 6 p.m., Puget Power officials said.
