Kribel Wins Pnga Men’s Amateur

Joel Kribel of Pleasanton, Calif., won the 95th Pacific Northwest Golf Association men’s amateur championship Saturday with a 7-and-5 victory over Nick Malinowski of Bellevue in a match scheduled for 36 holes.

The 19-year-old Kribel, a Stanford University sophomore, took control when he won four straight holes late in the morning round on the 6,937-yard, par-72 Loomis Trail Golf Club course.

Kribel squared the match with a par on the 14th hole, then went up for the first time and for good when he won the 15th with another par.

He also won the 16th and 17th, then the 19th and 20th to go 5 up.
