Officer Posing As Road Worker Nabs Speeders

Compiled From Wire Services

Some drivers are fuming about getting speeding tickets because the cop with the radar gun was disguised as a road worker.

About 75 drivers were ticketed Thursday, some going as fast as 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The officer was wearing a blue road-crew uniform, standing under a big umbrella behind a white pickup and surrounded by orange barricades. Uniformed officers were waiting down the road to stop the speeders.

“I don’t think it’s right,” said Edward Clay Lott, who was cited for driving 63 mph. “It’s a form of entrapment.”
