Carisa Rayniak Otis Orchards

Memorial service for Carisa Dawn Rayniak, 20, will be at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Marie Antoinette Room of the Davenport Hotel. A reception will immediately follow.

Ms. Rayniak died Sunday in Missoula after an automobile accident.

She was born in Billings, Mont.

She was engaged to be married to Kevin Guglielmetti of Liberty Lake. Mr. Guglielmetti was also killed in the accident.

Thursday’s memorial gathering will be a joint service for Ms. Rayniak and Mr. Guglielmetti.

Ms. Rayniak was raised in Otis Orchards and graduated from East Valley High School in 1993.

At East Valley High School she was a member of the homecoming court every year and was a Lilac Princess candidate her senior year. She was a member of DECA, the Leadership Class and the varsity soccer team.

After graduation she attended the University of Montana and Eastern Washington University.

She was manager of the Book Warehouse in Post Falls.

Survivors include her father, Bart Rayniak of Otis Orchards; her mother, Mary Kay Rayniak of Liberty Lake; and her brother, Ryan Rayniak of Otis Orchards.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carisa Rayniak Scholarship Fund for East Valley High School at any Washington Trust Bank branch.

Kevin Guglielmetti Liberty Lake

Memorial service for Kevin John Guglielmetti, 24, will be at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Marie Antoinette Room of the Davenport Hotel. A reception will immediately follow.

Mr. Guglielmetti died Sunday in Montana in an automobile accident.

He was born in Redwood City, Calif.

He was engaged to be married to Carisa Rayniak of Otis Orchards. Ms. Rayniak died following the accident.

Thursday’s memorial gathering will be a joint service for Mr. Guglielmetti and Ms. Rayniak.

Mr. Guglielmetti had lived in Spokane for 17 years and was a graduate of North Central High School.

He worked as an assistant manager for Sta-Fit North in Spokane.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Linda Guglielmetti of Liberty Lake; his brother, Bobby Guglielmetti of Liberty Lake; and his sister, Debbie Longstreth of Menlo Park, Calif.

Memorial contributions of outdoor plants may be made for a memorial garden at his parents’ home.

Ruth Gaffey Spokane

Service for Ruth M. Gaffey, 79, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Gaffey, who died Friday, was born in Coeur d’Alene.

She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School and attended secretarial school in Idaho.

She was a shipyard worker in Oregon during World War II.

Mrs. Gaffey was a homemaker and was a member of the Valley Church of the Nazarene. She had lived in Spokane 50 years.

Her husband, Arthur, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Gaffey of Spokane and Jeffrey Gaffey of Salt Lake City; and two brothers, Arthur and Oliver Manley, both of Coeur d’Alene.

Frank James Post Falls

Graveside service for Frank C. James, 89, will be Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James, who was born in Utah, died Friday.

He moved to Post Falls in 1991 from Pendleton, Ore., where he had lived for nearly 60 years.

He worked for Pilot Rock Lumber Co. before it became Louisiana Pacific. He retired in the 1960s.

He was a member of the Mormon Church.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, in 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Jim James of Salt Lake City and Dale James of Post Falls; one daughter, Colleen Fossum of Provo, Utah; one brother, Steve James of Utah; one sister, Gladys Feik of Oregon; seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Ruby Bennion Coeur d’Alene

Service for Ruby Bennion, 80, will be today at 1 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bennion, who was born in Ucon, Idaho, died Thursday.

She grew up in Ucon, graduated from high school and attended one year at the Idaho State College. She later moved to Ririe, Idaho, and became active in the Mormon Church and the Relief Society.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1950 and helped run the family business, Bob Bennion Oil Co. In 1971 she moved to Bayview, Idaho, where she ran a retail business and served as president of the Bayview Chamber of Commerce.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1981 and worked for Panhandle Insurance until retiring.

Mrs. Bennion was active in the Camp Fire Girls, the Parent-Teacher Association and Credit Women International and served on the board of the White Pine Council.

Survivors include one son, Rodney Bennion of Coeur d’Alene; three daughters, Carolyn Waldram of Coeur d’Alene, Betty Gaye Hartz of Liberty Lake and Bobette Bartholomew of Ketchikan, Alaska; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ruby Jemison Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Ruby Gladys Jemison, 78, will be Wednesday at noon at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Jemison, who was born in Montana, died Saturday.

She was a longtime Silver Valley resident and worked at the Jack Waite Mines Boarding House, Kellogg Variety Store, Joe’s Quick Lunch, Coeur d’Alene Homes and St. Vincent de Paul Society.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1971 from Kellogg.

Mrs. Jemison was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest, in 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Vivian Legault of Osburn, Idaho, and Lois Smith of Oregon; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Lucile Reams Colville, Wash.

Graveside service for Ival Lucile Reams, 86, was Monday at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.

Mrs. Reams, who died last Tuesday, was born in Lebam, Wash.

She grew up in Grants Pass, Ore., and married Donald Reams in 1928 in Medford, Ore.

They lived in Coeur d’Alene for 14 years and moved to Colville in 1976.

Her husband died in 1980, and Mrs. Reams returned to Coeur d’Alene in 1993. She returned to Colville earlier this year.

She is survived by two daughters, Lucile Barton of Colville and Linda Reams of Coeur d’Alene; one son, Roger Reams of Watson Lake, Yukon Territory; one brother, Robert Loveless of Grants Pass; five grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Colville United Methodist Church.

Thomas Kyte Jr. Spokane

Service for Thomas Kyte Jr., 97, was Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial was at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Kyte, who died Thursday, was born in England.

He worked as a barber, and he ranched at Carlin Bay, Idaho, for many years. He later moved to Harrison, Idaho, and worked for the Harrison School District.

Mr. Kyte moved to Spokane 20 years ago.

He was member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and El Katif Shrine.

He is survived by three daughters, June Jones and Dixie Eggleston, both of Spokane, and Joyce Ramberg of Seattle; one brother, Owen Kyte of Seattle; one sister, Ivy Graham of Canby, Ore.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
