Rangers Pick Up Experience As Kings Trade More Veterans

Compiled From Wire Services

The Los Angeles Kings, ridding their roster of high-priced veterans following the trade of Wayne Gretzky, dealt Marty McSorley, Jarri Kurri and Shane Churla to the New York Rangers on Thursday for Ray Ferraro and three other players.

The Kings also received centers Ian Laperriere and Nathan Lafayette - both marginal players - and defenseman Mattias Norstrom.

The seven-player deal comes just more than two weeks after the Kings traded Gretzky to the St. Louis Blues for three young players and two draft picks.
