Lemieux, Jagr Lift Penguins

Associated Press

NHL

Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr became the second teammates to both score 60 goals in a season when each connected Thursday night in Pittsburgh’s 3-2 victory over Florida at Miami. Jagr also set a record for most points by a European player during one NHL season with 140. The old mark was set by Peter Stastny, who scored 139 points for Quebec in 1981-82.

Lemieux and Jagr rank 1-2 in league scoring this season and showed why against Florida. Lemieux scored his 64th goal, Jagr his 60th.

Wayne Gretzky (73) and Jari Kurri (71), with Edmonton in 1984-85, were the first teammates with at least 60 goals each.
