Hamill Files Bankruptcy
Dorothy Hamill, the women’s figure skating gold medalist in the 1976 Winter Games, has filed for bankruptcy after a series of financial setbacks.
Hamill, 39, filed for Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Thursday, seeking to reorganize her financial affairs. Hamill said she has experienced a number of financial setbacks as a result of poor investment advice and management over the last several years.
