Wilderness regulations

Stock use will be allowed on all official trails within the Salmo-Priest Wilderness area under restrictions that go into effect this year.

A recent Field Report said Crowell Ridge was within the “primitive area” in the core of the wilderness where no stock will be allowed. However, the trail that runs from Sullivan Mountain along a portion of Crowell Ridge to Bear Pasture would remain open to horses, said Tim Bertram, Forest Service spokesman.

Stock will not be permitted off the official trail to the Gypsy Lakes area. , DataTimes
