Gm, Union Reach Tentative Settlement
General Motors Corp. and the United Auto Workers union reached a tentative settlement that would end a week-old strike at a Janesville, Wis., truck plant.
Negotiators reached an agreement about 1 p.m. PST time after working all day and much of last night, the company said. Details weren’t available. The union has scheduled a ratification vote for noon today.
It wasn’t clear when production would resume at the plant.
“The plan is to resume production as soon as possible after the ratification vote,” said GM spokesman Tom Beaman.
