Sinatra Tells Media To Hit The Road

Compiled From Wire Services

Frank Sinatra, recuperating at home after an eight-day hospital stay, said Tuesday he was “feeling better” - and he encouraged the media staking out his estate to hit the road.

“My doctor recommended that I go home - and I suggest the same thing for the cameras camped out at the end of my driveway. Besides, Mike Tyson needed my room,” Sinatra joked.

“Seriously, though, I’m feeling better and thank everyone for their concern. It’s great to be home,” the 80-year-old entertainer continued in the statement.

Sinatra walked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Nov. 1 for treatment of a painful pinched nerve. Rumors quickly began circulating that he was seriously ill.

But Sinatra directed his people to remain mum on his condition, and he refused to say more after he went home on Saturday.

Many of the satellite TV trucks, reporters and photographers who took positions outside the formidable gates leading to Sinatra’s estate pulled out after his statement Tuesday, but a handful remained.
