Sketches, Descriptions Released Of Suspects In Two City Rapes

Police have released composite sketches and descriptions of suspects in two Spokane rapes.

The suspect in a Nov. 4 burglary and rape of a woman in her West Kiernan home is described as a white man in his 20s or early 30s. He is between 5 feet 4 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with dark wavy hair, a full beard and a mustache, police said.

The second suspect is a black man in his 20s, between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds, according to police. He has closely cropped hair and may have hazel or green eyes.

Based on statements he made to the victim, police believe he may live or work near Gonzaga University.

He is believed to be responsible for the Nov. 9 rape of a woman in the 900 block of East Desmet.
