‘Swingers’ Ironic, But Makes Us Laugh

As screenwriter Jon Favreau uses the term, “Swingers” boasts an ironic tone. For if Favreau’s characters truly swing, then Al Gore is the quintessence of cool. Still, as portrayed by Favreau and Vince Vaughn in particular, they exude an oddball sort of charm in this Doug Liman film that is based on their inherent consideration for each other and their overall abilities to make us laugh.
