Ford Reshuffles Executive Lineup

From Staff And Wire Reports

Ford Motor Co. on Thursday announced it would combine its components divisions and reshuffle its executive suite as part of the automaker’s move to become more competitive.

The new Automotive Products Operations will include four component areas and cover more than 75,000 employees at plants and offices in 19 countries. No layoffs were planned.

The changes are designed to accelerate Ford 2000, a global reorganization launched in 1995.

Edward Hagenlocker, who was named as one of two Ford vice chairmen, will oversee the new operation.

Hagenlocker, who had been president of Ford Automotive Operations, will now oversee automotive components, land development and technical affairs, and rental car operations.

Wayne Booker was named the other vice chairman, with continuing responsibility for business development in growth markets, including China and India.
