Ferris High Wins Top Band Honors

Spokane’s Ferris and Meridian’s Centennial high schools each collected four trophies at Saturday’s Lilac Festival Pacific Northwest Marching Band Championships.

Ferris grabbed top honors, winning the sweepstakes trophy.

Mead, Cheney, University, West Valley, Shadle Park and East Valley also won awards at the 14-band competition, which was held at Albi Stadium.

The winners were as follows: Sweepstakes, Ferris; First AAA, Centennial (ID); Second AAA, Kennewick; Third AAA, Mead; First AA, Cheney; Second AA, Wenatchee; Third AA, University; First A, Clarkston; Second A, West Valley; Best Percussion, Ferris; Best Brass and Winds, Ferris; High General Effect, Centennial; Best Marching, Centennial; Best Drum Major, Ferris; Best Colorguard, Centennial; Finalists, Kamiakin, Shadle Park and East Valley.
