Teen Arrested On Drug Charges

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane teenager was arrested on drug charges early Saturday after police stopped the car she was driving because it had defective equipment.

Dorieann Dawn Robison, 19, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for possession of a controlled substance. Police found scales, two syringes and a bottle hidden under a blanket in the car, said spokesman Dick Cottam.

Substances found in the car tested positive for drugs, Cottam said.

Robison, who gave her address as 2126-1/2 N. Astor, was driving with a friend near Third and Maple about 2:55 a.m. when she was stopped.

Police checked Robison’s record with dispatchers and discovered her driver’s license was suspended, Cottam said. She also was named on an arrest warrant for unpaid traffic tickets, Cottam said.

Robison’s friend, who was carrying $1,400 in cash and $245 in food stamps, was not arrested. However, police took the food stamps because he could not prove ownership of them, Cottam said.
