From Staff And Wire Reports

An Othello, Wash., man died Sunday when two pickup trucks collided near Royal City.

Pedro Sandoval, 42, died after he failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of two rural roads and was struck by a pickup driven by Jacob Weyns, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department said.

Two passengers in Sandoval’s 1976 Datsun pickup truck sustained head injuries and were taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Their names and the extent of their injuries were not released.

Weyns, 27, also of Othello, and four passengers in his 1994 Chevrolet pickup sustained minor injuries. They were all treated and released from the Othello Hospital.
