Ramona Denius Chosen Employee Of The Month

Ramona Denius, a 19-year Kootenai Medical Center veteran, has been chosen as KMC’s Employee of the Month for October.

Denius, part of the dietary department, was chosen due to her efficiency in her job duties, dependability and thoroughness, cheerful attitude and exhibition of excellent customer service. She was also noted for being helpful to co-workers.

Shawn Freligh, a 1995 Lake City High School graduate, was recently chosen to receive the John Zuchara Award in recognition of his excellent campus citizenship and high academic achievement upon completion of his freshman year at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire.

Freligh, grandson of Ethel Swofford of Hayden Lake, is one of only two students this year to receive the honor.

Ean Estep, a 1996 graduate of Lake City High School, recently earned the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America Troop 259 sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Estep, son of Ron and Sandee Estep of Coeur d’Alene, earned the award for drawing a map of the 15-acre Coeur d’Alene City Park showing significant improvements and landmarks, including the Cultural Center, light poles, benches, lifeguard stand, basketball and volleyball areas, the bandstand, restrooms, sandpit, driveway, drinking fountain, gazebo, maintenance building and other park improvements.

The project was discussed with city administrator Ken Thompson and will be used for planning additional improvements and to assist citizens who reserve park areas.

Estep, who is currently backpacking in Europe before attending a semester of college, was a high school honor student, varsity soccer player and a member of the Natural Helpers and yearbook staff. He will serve a mission for the Mormon Church after a completed semester of college.
