Timber Course Deadline Near
Wednesday is the deadline for registering for a course designed to help private landowners managing their timber.
“Forest Management Shortcourse” is being offered by the University of Idaho Cooperative Extension system. It is six sessions between Nov. 6 to Dec 11. It covers forest ecology, silviculture, forest health, wildlife habitat and other issues.
Participants learn how to develop a management plan for their forests. There also is a summer field trip to allow people to integrate the classroom work with field experiences.
The course will be held Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Coeur d’Alene at the Kootenai County Extension Office at 106 E. Dalton Avenue. There is room for 25 students and the fee is $35.
