Burglary, Chase Net 10-Year Term

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Spokane man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for his part in a 1994 burglary that ended in a high-speed pursuit across two states.

Theodore Robison, 31, will be eligible for parole after three years.

“We can all sleep a little better at night,” said Henry Madsen, Kootenai County deputy prosecutor. “This guy is one of the reasons you triple-lock your doors at night.”

Madsen said Robison has a lengthy criminal history that spans at least four states and includes violent offenses and prior burglaries.

In November 1994, Robison and two friends were interrupted while burglarizing the Hauser Smoke Shop, Madsen said. One man fled into the woods while Robison and another man fled in a pickup truck.

Police from Idaho and Washington chased the two men to Spokane at speeds up to 100 mph.

The other man escaped by bailing out of the truck while Robison continued driving, Madsen said. Police finally caught Robison.

Robison was convicted July 22 in First District Court of aiding and abetting the Hauser burglary. Ten years is the maximum sentence. , DataTimes
