Gap Gears Up To Test New Store Concepts

From Staff And Wire Reports

Gap Inc. said it plans to test new store concepts and expand overseas in an effort to give its brand the same power as Nike and Coke.

Expanding beyond its traditional sites, the company is opening stores in airports, including London’s Heathrow, where it said “‘millions of new eyes” would see its stores.

The retailer, which operates the Gap, GapKids, Old Navy and Banana Republic chains, also said it is testing stores that sell only women’s or men’s clothing. So far, the results have been good.
