America West Says Improvements Made

America West Airlines says it has made significant improvements since hundreds of flights had to be cancelled earlier this year.

The Phoenix-based airline canceled 937 flights in the quarter ended June 30, up 70 percent from the previous year

According to America West’s reliability department, the airline canceled 14 flights on Aug. 1 and 2 for maintenance reasons, inconveniencing more than 700 passengers and costing the airline $69,217 in lost revenue.
