Stroebel, who has worked his entire career at the Coeur d’Alene Post Office and served the same route for 23 years, has been recognized for his positive attitude, dedication to service, commitment and quality work ethic.

He is a member of the National Safety Council’s Million Mile Club and has never had an automobile accident in his 40-year career. He began his career on Aug. 30, 1956.

The Greater Kellogg Chamber of Commerce’s parade float, “Mountain Adventure,” won first place in the Division I Commercial Float Category during the 35th annual Grand Sunfair Parade in Yakima, held Sept. 21.

The float, which has won numerous awards in the 1996 parade season, features a decorated Bunker Hill Alpine Village Trolley towing a decorated Silver Mountain Gondola cabin. It displayed banners to promote the Silver Valley’s convenient U.S. Interstate 90 location and to identify the diverse recreational opportunities available in the area.
