Frontier Track And Field

Frontier League dual track meets begin next Thursday.

Defending champions: West Valley boys and girls, the first in many years for the boys, the fifth straight for the girls.

Postseason results: Because only the league champion in each event has qualified for state, there hasn’t been enough depth to contend for a state title. However, this year the top two out of the FL qualify for state.

Returning state placers, boys: Ricardo Colin, Pullman (champion long jump; 4th 100); Vinnie Pecht, WV (2nd discus); Jerry Claridge, EV (5th long jump; 6th triple jump); Devion Tensley, WV (6th long jump); Clayton Holmes, WV (8th 1600); Ryan Schroder, WV (8th high jump)

Returning state placers, girls: Jennifer Herbert, Clarkston (5th 100 hurdles; 6th, 300 hurdles); Angela Fazzari, Clarkston (8th javelin).

Key meets: EV and WV square off at East Valley on May 1, which could determine both titles.

Big invitationals: Pasco is this weekend, Mooberry is at Rogers on April 26 and Strandberg is at CV May 10.

Postseason: District 7 is at EWU May 23-24.
