Two Measures Win In Whitman County
In Whitman County elections Tuesday, voters approved two measures and defeated a third.
Tekoa voters passed a $15,000 levy to cover salaries, maintenance and operation of the community center. The levy was approved 90-43.
In Garfield, voters in three rural areas decided to join that town’s public hospital district. The vote was 19-0.
Rosalia voters rejected the creation of a public hospital district, 108-99.
The town has no taxing authority to make improvements in a small health clinic without forming its own hospital district.
