Spokane Airport Traffic Down Again

Passenger traffic at Spokane International Airport continued its retreat during June from last year’s record-setting pace.

During the month, 263,888 passengers got on or off airplanes at Spokane International, compared with 276,685 during June of 1996 - a decline of 4.63 percent. For the first six months of the year, the airport handled 1,457,984 passengers, a decline of 8.5 percent from the 1,593,737 passengers who used the airport during the first half of 1996.

For the first six months of the year, though, total air cargo handled at Spokane International was up 9 percent over the same period a year ago. Felts Field has handed almost 43 percent less freight than during the first half of 1996.
