Robert Hagman Spokane

Memorial service for Robert T. Hagman, 73, will be at 1 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Hagman, who was born in Seattle, died Sunday.

In 1950, he married Carmen Greenstreet in Cashmere, Wash.

Mr. Hagman was a partner in Henry Hagman Construction of Spokane. He did work on the North Cascades Highway and Banks Lake highway drainage structures.

Mr. Hagman also built and operated a heavy equipment trucking terminal in Spokane.

He served with the 385th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during World War II.

He was a civilian graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a 1949 graduate of Washington State College.

Mr. Hagman was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Heidi Archer of Cheney and Kim Hagman of Spokane; a sister, Elaine Larson of Wenatchee; and one granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.

Kenneth Keefer Spokane

An open house in memory of Kenneth Howard Keefer, a retired arts educator, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the family home. At his request, he will be cremated and inurned with his twin brother, Keith, in Idaho Falls at a future date. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Keefer, 68, died Thursday.

He was born in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He received his bachelor of fine arts degree in 1952 from the University of Idaho and his master’s degree from the University of Oregon in 1954.

Mr. Keefer served in the armed forces during the Korean War and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.

He taught in the Tacoma public school system and then moved to the Community Colleges of Spokane, where he was an instructor for 30 years.

Mr. Keefer retired in 1994. He contributed artworks to the Cheney Cowles Museum’s Works of Heart sale.

Survivors include a sister, Blanche Redd of Idaho Falls; and a brother, Hal Keefer of Bellevue.

Audrey (Berg) Covell Greenacres

Memorial service for Audrey Lucille (Berg) Covell, 86, was Monday at the Good Samaritan Village.

Mrs. Covell, who was born in Gardner, N.D., died Nov. 25.

She graduated from Sioux Falls (S.D.) High School and then moved to Montana with her family and went to work as a bookkeeper at Goan Motor Company in Billings, Mont.

In 1935 she married William Covell in Billings.

They moved to Spokane in 1948 and she worked as a bookkeeper for auto dealerships until her retirement.

Mrs. Covell volunteered for the Davis School for the Deaf, Sacred Heart Medical Center and the Corbin Senior Center.

Her husband died in 1984.

She is survived by a son, Richard Covell of Midland, Texas; a sister, Marie Kittle of Camano Island, Wash.; three grandsons and three greatgrandchildren.

William Green Spokane

Private family service for William Paul Green, 51, was Monday.

Mr. Green, who was born in San Francisco, died Thursday.

He was a 22-year Spokane resident and was a member of the Baptist church, the Evergreen Archery Club, the Physically Challenged Bow Hunters of America and the Wild Rose Ramblers Square Dancing Club.

He is survived by a son, William Green Jr. of Chico, Calif.; his mother Virginia Williams of Spokane; three brothers, Patrick Green of Hayward, Calif., Cary Greene of Lewisville, Texas, and Clifton Green of Bethel Island, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Ichiro Yamamoto Spokane

Memorial service for Ichiro Yamamoto, 84, will be at 7 p.m. today at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Yamamoto, who was born in Pomona, Wash., died Saturday.

He moved to Spokane in 1943 and was a farmer in the Opportunity area for about 20 years.

Mr. Yamamoto then owned and operated B and J Supply for about 20 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, Japanese American Citizens League and Valley Rotary.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Tayeko; a daughter, Jan Crouch of Spokane; a son, Don Yamamoto of Federal Way, Wash.; two sisters, Toshiye Uyehara and Tazue Koyama, both of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Gail ‘Leona’ McCarthy Chattaroy

Memorial service for Gail Marie ‘Leona’ McCarthy, 47, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Pines Baptist Church. A private burial will be held at Pines Cemetery. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. McCarthy, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.

She worked as a nurses aide.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, Sean and Caleb McCarthy, both of Spokane; two daughters, Abigail McRae of Spokane and Amelia McRae of San Francisco; her father, Lloyd Curtis of McMinnville, Ore.; Ervin and Sharon Kruger, who raised her, of Chattaroy; three brothers, Richard and Steve Kruger, both of Spokane and Bill Peters of the Tri-Cities, and seven sisters, Roberta Warren of Portland, Sara Smith of Los Angeles, Jackie Love of Chattaroy, Glenda Chapin of Yakima, Jody White, Lori Weddle and Jana Lavigne, all of Spokane.

Jack McCann Tacoma

Memorial Mass for Jack G. McCann, 78, will be at 4 p.m. today in the chapel at Gonzaga Prep. Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Directors in Tacoma is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. McCann, who died Sunday, was born in Travers, Alberta.

After spending his early years in Montana, he moved to Spokane and graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in 1937.

He served in the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II, then returned to Spokane.

Mr. McCann was in the automobile business and sold used cars. In 1979 he moved to Tacoma and worked with his brother in Tom McCann’s Cadillac dealership.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Friends, Elks Lodge and the Spokane Police Guild.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Esther; four daughters, Marilyn Kirschbaum, Patricia Shea and Maureen O’Brien, all of Spokane, and Melissa White of Tacoma; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Gonzaga Preparatory School.

Frances Ready Spokane

Service for Frances L. Ready, 80, was Tuesday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial followed at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ready, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.

She lived in Alaska and Camas, Wash., before moving back to Spokane in the late 1980s.

Mrs. Ready was a homemaker.

Her husband, Tracy, preceded her in death.

Survivors include four brothers, Harold Totten of Mead, David Totten of Spokane, Frank Totten of Newman Lake and Donald Totten of Battle Ground, Wash.; two sisters, Laura Meier of Trego, Mont., and Carolyn Luft of Newman Lake; a grandson and three great-grandchildren.

Harriet Martin Spokane

Burial for Harriet Louise Martin, 87, will be at a later date in Juliaetta, Idaho. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of the arrangements and cremation.

Mrs. Martin, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.

She graduated from Juliaetta High School in 1927 and from the University of Idaho in 1993.

Mrs. Martin taught school in the 1930s at Gifford and Upper Fords Creek, Idaho.

She moved to Spokane in 1941 and worked for several employers including United Paint, Mack Truck and the Cheney-Cowles Museum from 1958 until her retirement in 1980.

Mrs. Martin then volunteered for Cheney-Cowles Museum for several more years.

She is survived by a son, Morris Martin of Spokane.

Laurel Shedenhelm Post Falls

No service will be held for Laurel J. Shedenhelm, 88, at his request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shedenhelm, who died Thursday, was born in Ohio.

He moved to Spokane in 1941 and to Coeur d’Alene in 1950. He served 27 years in the Air Force and had served as an air traffic control warrant officer.

Mr. Shedenhelm traveled around the world during his military service, retiring in 1956 and then worked as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration.

He also worked as a postal carrier on a marine route for eight years before retiring.

Mr. Shedenhelm was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes “Ness.”

Survivors include a son, John Shedenhelm of Arizona; a brother, Dale Shedenhelm of New Jersey; and five grandchildren, James, John, Paul, Mathew, and Mark.

Mike Dimico St. Maries

Memorial service for Mike Dimico, 91, will be at 11 a.m. held Thursday at St. Maries Church of the Nazarene. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dimico, who was born in Springston, Idaho, near Medimont, died Saturday.

He grew up in Springston before moving to Kellogg, where he worked in various mines.

Mr. Dimico moved to St. Maries in 1934 and worked as a gypo logger, retiring in 1966.

He was a former member of the St. Maries Grange.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Vivian; a son, Roy Dimico of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Betty Fortin of Yakima and Gwen Grigsby of California; three brothers, Sylvio Dimico of Kingston, Idaho, Gene Dimico of Sequim, Wash., and Pierre Dimico of Spokane; two sisters, Josephine Cheeper and Julia Felice, both of Spokane; eight grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Wynafred Fyfe Spokane

Memorial service for Wynafred Fyfe, 85, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Fyfe, who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, died Saturday.

She graduated in 1931 from Central Valley High School and in 1934 from St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

Mrs. Fyfe worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a registered nurse and was promoted to nursing supervisor. She retired in 1958.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Her husband of 37 years, Roy Fyfe, died in 1977.

Mrs. Fyfe is survived by two sons, Douglas Fyfe of Salem, Ore., and Bruce Fyfe of Everett; a daughter, Marie Goetz of Spokane; two brothers, Gordon and Ronald Zimmer, both of Spokane; two sisters, Elva Bigelow of Wrangell, Alaska, and Wilma Thomas of Santa Clara, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Roy Mantooth Spokane

Private family service was held for Roy S. Mantooth, 64. Private inurnment will be in Oklahoma. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Mantooth, who was born in Holdenville, Okla., died Nov. 25.

He moved to Spokane from Oklahoma in 1952.

Mr. Mantooth served in the National Guard and worked for Baker Service Station as a mechanic for several years. He retired in 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Royann Hanson of Spokane and Kathy Nelson of Oregon; two sons, Mike and John Mantooth, both of Spokane; three brothers, Loyal, Harold and Richard Mantooth, all of Oklahoma; two sisters, Hazel Spears and Helen Crawford, both of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Loyd Wareham Spokane

No service will be held for Loyd A. Wareham, 70, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wareham, who was born in St. John, Wash., died Nov. 26.

He graduated from St. John High School.

In 1946 he married Ora Moede in St. John.

Mr. Wareham worked for Nabisco and Purina and then was a park ranger for the state of Washington, serving mostly in central and Western Washington.

He moved back to Spokane in 1987 and retired in 1988.

Mr. Wareham was a lifetime member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife.
