Death Of A Clown
Actor Bob Bell, the first “Bozo the Clown,” died Monday at age 75. In this file photo he is shown taping his last television show for WGN-TV in Chicago in 1984. Bell created “Bozo” in 1959 and returned to the airwaves in 1961 with “Bozo’s Circus,” a children’s show that included one-man skits and animated cartoons. He was inducted into the Clown Hall of Fame in 1996.
