Agency Offers Free Pesticide Disposal

Get rid of those pesky pesticides this spring during a free collection sponsored by the Idaho Department of Agriculture.

The collection program is designed to help people storing unusable pesticides (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and others) to safely dispose of them.

The program is open to chemical users and dealers, but a fee will be charged after the first 1,000 pounds per person. Fertilizers, paint, motor oil, pressurized gas cylinders and solvents will not be collected.

Preregistration is required to participate. Call Rodney Awe or Pam Dupree at (208) 332-8616 to get registration forms for the program. The deadline to turn in the forms is April 11.
