Residents Warned Of Scam Involving Teen

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are warning northwest Spokane residents of a scam in which a teenage girl goes door to door begging for money to help her dying mother.

Police said the girl also has tried to get into a home to show craft items she claimed to be selling for the “Crisis Residence Center.”

Residents approached by the girl told police she travels with several teenage boys who don’t come to the door. She is described as about 15 years old, attractive and neatly dressed, with an olive complexion and long black hair.

Police are encouraging residents not to open their doors to strangers.
