Second Half Seals Shadow’s Fate California Tuneup Trip Opens With 3-1 Setback In Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Seals scored three second-half goals to defeat the Spokane Shadow 3-1 Friday in a non-league USISL soccer match.

Jim Martinson had given Spokane (15-4 overall, 1-2 non-league) a 1-0 lead midway through the first half.

The score remained 1-0 until the 68th minute when San Francisco Bay (4-0 non-league) scored on a penalty kick by Marco Bonaccorsi.

In the 83rd minute Chris Davini spun past a pair of Shadow defenders and scored for a 2-1 lead. San Francisco Bay’s Ramon Ritz added the final goal 2 minutes later.

The Shadow, preparing for next week’s USISL Premier League Northwest Division tournament in Spokane, are in northern California for two games against a higher level of competition.

San Francisco Bay, of the USISL 3D Pro League, had previously advanced to play the Kansas City Wizards of the Major Soccer League for their next game in the Open Cup, a season-long tournament for any team in America.

Today, the Shadow play at the Chico Rooks, also of the USISL 3D Pro League.
