Bandits Win Three, Advance To Title Game

Jeff Dahmen hit his first two home runs Saturday, leading the Bandits of Spokane’s AAA American Legion into today’s championship game of the Skagit Valley Tournament at Mount Vernon, Wash.

Dahmen connected twice during a 12-1 win over the Seattle Knights.

In earlier games, the Bandits defeated Stilly River 4-2 and Edmonds 6-2.

Kenny Beeler’s homer against Stilly River supported Jim Gewalt, who pitched a complete game and struck out five.

Reliever Derek Fountain threw 6-1/3 innings of no-hit ball against Edmonds. Beeler went 4 for 4 and Josh Sheffield tripled and doubled.

In AAA league play, Brandon Muzatko hit a grand slam and drove in six runs as the North Stars (1-5) beat the Blue Devils 20-5 to split a doubleheader at Gonzaga University.

Seth Winterer and Danny Crowley of the North Stars had three runs and two RBIs apiece.

The Blue Devils (2-2) won the opener 10-5 as Brian Coe hit a two-run homer in the second and a three-run shot in the third.

Steve Warren was 3 for 4 with two runs and two stolen bases for the Blue Devils. Muzatko went 3 for 4 with an RBI.
