Sampras, Hingis No. 1

Three-time champion Pete Sampras was installed the No. 1 men’s seed for the upcoming Wimbledon championships.

For the women, Martina Hingis was seeded No. 1, followed by Monica Seles, Jana Novotna, Iva Majoli and Lindsay Davenport.

Among the men, Goran Ivanisevic is seeded No. 2, followed by Yevgeny Kafelnikov, defending champion Richard Krajicek and Michael Chang.
