Broncos Hammer On Rival Vandals
Senior guard Joe Wyatt and junior forward Roberto Bergersen each scored 15 points as Boise State defeated Idaho 73-53 in a technical-foul filled Big West Conference basketball game Sunday.
In the game between in-state rivals, Idaho (13-17, 5-11) was called for four technical fouls and Boise State (14-12, 9-7) was called for two. Idaho coach Kermit Davis was ejected from the game with his second technical late in the first half.
With 1:48 left in the half and Boise leading 32-17, Idaho’s Robert Scott was called for a personal foul, and Davis was hit with successive technicals protesting the call.
Boise State’s Mike Tolman hit five of the six free throws and the Broncos scored a field goal on the in-bounds play for a seven-point possession.
