Student Charged With Computer Trespass

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 16-year-old Leavenworth boy accused of tampering with the school district’s computer system has been charged with five counts of felony computer trespass.

Chelan County Deputy Prosecutor Ed Stevenson filed the charges against Andrew Siemion on Tuesday.

Siemion has been out of school since last fall, when Cascade High School officials expelled him after he was accused of invading the district’s computer system.

Siemion and his mother, Sandra Fodor, fought the expulsion unsuccessfully in court, saying it was a violation of Siemion’s civil rights to punish him for something before he had a chance to defend himself in court.

But Chelan County sheriff’s deputies and school officials maintain that Siemion invaded the school district’s computer system to copy passwords of teachers and administrators and change one student’s grades.
