Dole Papers Outline Illegal Donations
A vice chairman of Bob Dole’s presidential campaign has supplied a U.S. Senate committee with thousands of pages of documents outlining years of political activity, including at least $120,000 in illegal donations.
The committee also has ordered the official, Boston millionaire Simon Fireman, to testify under oath about his role in funneling illicit money to the Dole campaign.
Fireman and his company, Aqua-Leisure Industries, pleaded guilty last year to 74 criminal counts and were ordered to pay a record $6 million in fines.
