Fassero Eagerly Awaits Another Shot At Brewers

One day after the shortest start of his major league career, Jeff Fassero had already checked the calendar and circled his upcoming rematch with the Milwaukee Brewers.

“I watched the video of the game again,” Fassero said of Saturday’s blow-out loss, “and I learned about their approach. We’ll see what happens next time.”

“Next time” turns out to be on the road trip that takes Seattle through Chicago, Baltimore and Milwaukee. Fassero will get one of the two games against the Brewers.

After Sunday’s game, the Mariners optioned right-hander Derek Lowe to Triple-A Tacoma and brought reliever Josias Manzanillo off the 15-day disabled list effective Tuesday… . Team physicians say left-hander Tim Davis, disabled with a strained left forearm, may require an operation to repair the damage… . Seattle has been outscored in the ninth inning this season, 29-4… . With the victory by Jamie Moyer victory Sunday, the Mariners are 12-3 in games started by left-handers Randy Johnson, Fassero and Moyer.
