Giants Assist Hunt For Girl

A 5-year-old girl was reported missing at 3Com Park during Sunday’s game between San Francisco and Cincinnati, and police searched every car leaving the stadium.

According to police, the girl went to the bathroom with her aunt or mother around 2:30 p.m. but never returned. Officers, who failed to locate the girl by Sunday night, said the uncle may have found her and taken her home.

She was described as 4 feet tall and 40 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was wearing a Giants sweatshirt with blue jeans and white tennis shoes, a dispatcher said.

Team officials announced over the public address system in the eighth inning that a girl was missing, according to people in the park.

Some drivers reported being stuck in the lot for more than an hour.
